Trades complete an online application, telling our specialists about their experience and professional qualifications.
Why should you pick our trades to do your job for you? We’ve worked hard to find your best local tradesmen.
Our independent, thorough five-stage vetting process is unique for a trade website. We have a team of specialists that all have experience and an understanding of the industry, who meet all our trades and inspect their previous works. Not all the trades that apply to work with us get through the vetting process. This means only the very best trades will be chosen.
Combined with our 12-month John Lewis workmanship guarantee, you can rest assured your job is completed by the best tradesmen available and if anything does go wrong, we’re there to put it right.
Trades speak to our specialists on the phone to tell us more about them, and help us get an idea of their customer service.
Trades come along to an open day where they can meet our specialists face-to-face, and talk about their current projects.
Our specialists visit up to three of the trades' previous completed jobs so we can see the quality of their work.
The trades and their employees go through a full background check so you fully trust their credentials.
Our trades are important to us too, and we have a partnership with all of our tradesmen, one where our success is important for both us and them and we grow together.
Our dedicated team of specialists often proactively look for the right tradesmen to go through our vetting process. We always work with local trades.
The benefit of this relationship is that we grow a history with all of our trades, and we know them. That’s why we’re proud for them to represent us.
We work closely with trade bodies and professional associations, who often recommend their members to be considered as our trades.
We carefully select the companies we work with and their members are held to very high industry standards.
National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC)
The NICEIC provides assessment and certification services for electrical contractors and installers. Their members are regularly reviewed to ensure the work that they do is safe, and installed to the highest industry standards.
The Association of Professional Landscapers (APL)
The APL only represents landscapers who’ve met a high standard of professionalism, are regularly inspected, agree to follow a Customer Charter, hold appropriate insurances, and have traded for a minimum of two years.
Gas Safe Register
All of our boiler and heating specialists are also on the Gas Safe Register, meaning they can work legally and safely with all heating appliances.
